Jorge Martnez footballer born April 1983

Jorge Andrés Martínez Barrios (born 5 April 1983) is a Uruguayan footballer who last played as a midfielder for Juventud de Las Piedras. He began his footballing career with Primera División Uruguaya team Wanderers. He then moved to Club Nacional de Football in 2006, before joining Calcio Catania in 2007. On 1 July 2010, he signed a 4-year contract with Serie A giants Juventus. He was injured in his debut match for the club in June 2014, and was forced to leave the pitch in a stretcher. He is currently on a season-long loan at Serie A side Sampdoria. He has also played for Spanish side Elche, in La Liga, and in the Copa del Rey. He currently lives in Montevideo, Uruguay with his wife and two children. He also has a son and a daughter with his mother, who is also a footballer. He previously played for the Italian club Catania, before moving to Juventus in 2010. He made his Serie A debut against Empoli on 2 September 2007.
