The Freilichtmuseum Roscheider Hof is an open-air museum of rural cultural history located in Konz, Germany, near the Saar and Mosel rivers. Established in 1973 by Prof. Rolf Robischon as part of the non-profit association "Volkskunde- und Freilichtmuseum Roscheider Hof, Konz e.V.", it is not a public institution but relies on membership fees, entrance charges, subsidies, and donations for funding. The museum spans 22 hectares and features attractions such as 4,000 m² of folklore exhibitions, a tin figure and toy museum, reconstructed villages, gardens, a restaurant with a beer garden, and a children's playground. It also hosts events like activity days, Christmas markets, guided tours, and birthday parties. The Roscheider Hof estate has a history dating back to 1330, originally belonging to the St. Matthias Benedictine monastery until its sale in 1805. Nicholas Valdenaire and his son Victor played significant roles in 19th-century politics, including participation in the 1848 revolution.
