Ernestine Fu
Ernestine Fu (born April 30, 1992) is an American venture capitalist, investor, and author. Born in Los Angeles, California, she attended North Hollywood High School's Highly Gifted Magnet program. She earned her B.S., M.S., MBA, and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Fu began her career in venture capital as an undergraduate at Stanford, joining Alsop Louie Partners. She quickly closed her first deal and was recognized for being a young Asian-American woman in the field. She later became an investment partner at Brave Capital and has invested in early-stage technology companies like Zoox (now part of Amazon) and nuTonomy (part of Motional). Her doctoral research focused on autonomous vehicles at Stanford's Volkswagen Automotive Innovation Lab, earning awards at conferences such as the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. She served as a director at Hyundai Motor Group.
Fu has also worked as an advisor to DBS Bank, helping launch its venture debt program and leading the BusinessClass initiative to support entrepreneurship in Asia. Additionally, she has taught courses on emerging technologies as an adjunct professor and co-directed the Frontier Technology Lab.
Recognized for her contributions, Fu was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, Vanity Fair's Next Establishment list, and Business Insider's Silicon Valley 100 list. She received the Kauffman Fellowship for venture capitalists and the Eisenhower Fellowship for mid-career professionals. Additionally, she is a member of Mensa.
