Engst is a German punk band formed in Berlin in 2015 by vocalist Matthias Engst and other members including Ramin Tehrani, Yuri Cernovolov, Alexander Köhler, Tim Eden, and Kevin Heidenreich. The band initially gained attention after winning a singing competition, but instead of pursuing pop stardom, they focused on forming their own project. Their first self-titled EP was released in 2017 following a signing with record label Arising Empire. Over the years, the band experienced lineup changes, including the departures of Tim Eden and Kevin Heidenreich, with Chris Wendel replacing Köhler as bassist.

Engst's music combines catchy melodies and lyrics, often addressing leftwing political themes and criticizing right-wing extremism. Their discography includes albums like *Flächenbrand* (2018), *Schöne neue Welt* (2020, charting at #20 in Germany), and *Irgendwas ist immer* (2023, reaching #14). The band has embarked on multiple tours across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with notable performances alongside bands like Serum 114, Massendefekt, and Betontod. Their latest album, *Irgendwas ist immer*, was released in October 2023, followed by a tour through November 2023. Engst continues to be active in the punk scene, with recent releases including EPs like *Vier Gesichter* (2021) and singles such as "Herr Meier Von Der AfD."
