Spyro Gyra's album *A Foreign Affair* tells the story of five men and their passion for music. It features a Hindi song, "Khuda," sung by Arijit Singh, composed and co-produced by Sandeep Chowta alongside Spyro Gyra, marking the first time a Western group has released a track entirely in Hindi. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release on September 13, 2011.

The album received positive reviews from critics. Jonathan Widran of AllMusic praised the vocal tracks by Keb' Mo' and Julio Fernández, noting the band's fresh perspective after decades. Brian Soergel of JazzTimes called it a long-awaited treat for casual fans. Howard Dukes of Soul Tracks highlighted the seamless blend of international influences, emphasizing music as a universal language.

The band members include Jay Beckenstein on saxophones, Tom Schuman on keyboards, Julio Fernández on guitars and vocals, Scott Ambush on bass, and Bonny Bonaparte on drums and percussion. Additional contributors are Pedrito Martinez, Sandeep Chowta, Tosin Aribisala, Arijit Singh, and Keb' Mo'. 

Production credits include Leonard Silver as executive producer, Spyro Gyra as producers, with Sandeep Chowta co-producing "Khuda." Engineers were Paul Antonell, Connor Milton, and Elijah Walker.
