Sylvain Barrier

Sylvain Barrier, born on October 20, 1988, in Oyonnax, France, is a professional motorcycle racer. He has achieved significant success in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, winning the championship twice, in 2012 and 2013. Barrier began his racing career in the European Superstock 600 Championship in 2006 and 2007, finishing 20th and 6th respectively. He transitioned to the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup in 2008, where he initially competed on a Yamaha, finishing 16th that year and 5th in 2009.

From 2010 onward, Barrier raced primarily with BMW machinery, securing multiple podiums and victories. In 2010, he finished 6th with two podiums, and in 2011, he placed 4th with one win and four podiums. His consecutive championships in 2012 and 2013 solidified his prominence in the series. In 2015, he returned to Yamaha, finishing 15th in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup.

Barrier also made appearances in the Superbike World Championship, debuting at the Jerez circuit in 2009 with a 12th place finish in Race 1 and 13th in Race 2, earning 7 points that weekend. Additionally, he competed in the British Superbike Championship in 2018 aboard a BMW S1000RR.
