Psaha and Motorists
Přísaha and Motorists (Czech: Přísaha a Motoristé) was a Czech electoral alliance formed for the 2024 European Parliament election. The collaboration between Přísaha and Motorists for Themselves began after the 2022 municipal elections, during which Přísaha won 51 local councillors but fell short of its expectations. In Pohořelice, Přísaha's hometown, it secured 41.28% of the vote and nine out of 21 seats, despite facing a unity coalition from other parties. Motorists for Themselves aimed to join the Prague governing coalition but failed to clear the 5% electoral threshold, securing no seats in the Prague City Council. In autumn 2023, Přísaha and Motorists announced their cooperation for the 2024 Czech Senate election, with Motorists supporting Robert Šlachta's candidacy. However, by January 2024, the two parties signed a memorandum forming a coalition for the European elections, with an election budget of around six million CZK. In the 2024 European Parliament election, the alliance won 10.26% of the vote and two out of 21 seats, exceeding expectations. Filip Turek, their electoral leader, received 152,196 preferential votes, the second-highest in the Czech Republic. The alliance attracted support from ANO and SPD voters, as well as non-voters, and performed strongly in smaller cities with the youngest electorate. Despite their success, Přísaha decided to run alone in the 2024 Czech regional elections, failing to win any seats. However, they secured a Senate seat through Šlachta's victory in the concurrent Senate election.
