Pennsylvania Route 239

Pennsylvania Route 239 is a 36.84-mile-long state highway located in Luzerne, Columbia and Lycoming counties. The southern terminus is at PA 93 in Nescopeck Township and the northern terminus at PA 42 in North Mountain. The highway runs for 32.9 miles before reaching its northern termin point at PA 487. The state highway was designated in 1928. It is the longest state highway along the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. It was extended in the 1960s when PA 239 was widened and renamed. The freeway was extended up to its current length in 2014. Noise and lighting are used for most of the route's signage. All signage in Pennsylvania is non-descriptive.
