Mikhail Onufrienko
Mikhail Borisovich Onufrienko (born January 19, 1965, in Kharkiv, Ukrainian SSR) is a pro-Russian Ukrainian blogger known for his political activities and online presence. After completing his education, he served in the Soviet Army and attempted to enroll at Moscow State University but was unsuccessful. He later worked as a graduate student in Kharkiv before entering business, trading securities post-Soviet Union collapse.
Onufrienko actively supported Viktor Yanukovych during the 2004 Orange Revolution and co-founded the pro-Russian organization Velikaya Rus in 2009. In 2013, he was part of the "Civil Forum of Kharkiv," which supported Yanukovych during the Revolution of Dignity protests. After Yanukovych's defeat in 2014 and amid the Russo-Ukrainian War, Onufrienko fled to Russia and later moved to Crimea.
In 2022, the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office opened a case against him for spreading disinformation on his internet channels, which justify Russian military actions. He currently uses LiveJournal (as mikle1) and Telegram to publish content supporting Russia's policies in Ukraine. His platform also includes the website Naspravdi. On May 3, 2022, YouTube removed his main channel for violating its terms of service.
Onufrienko is married and has a daughter.
