Lisa Strausfeld

Lisa Strausfeld is an American design professional and information architect, born in 1964 or 1965. She studied art history and computer science at Brown University, earning a Bachelor of Arts, and later earned a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. She also holds a Master of Science degree in media arts and sciences from MIT. Strausfeld co-founded Perspecta, a software company in San Francisco, in 1996 with two MIT classmates. The company was sold to Excite@Home in 1999. Afterward, she joined Quokka Sports until its closure in the early 2000s. In 2002, she became a partner at Pentagram, an international design consultancy, where she specialized in digital information projects, including large-scale installations, software prototypes, and user interfaces. During her time at Pentagram, she collaborated on notable projects such as Bloomberg’s corporate headquarters, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and an interactive marquee for the Walker Art Center. In 2006, Strausfeld joined Gallup as a Senior Scientist while continuing at Pentagram until leaving in 2011 to establish Major League Politics (MLP). She left MLP after a year to lead data visualization efforts at Bloomberg. In 2015, she returned to Gallup as Acting Global Creative Director until 2017, when she became a Senior Research Fellow at The New School until 2020.
