"Goodies" is the debut single by American singer Ciara featuring American rapper Petey Pablo for Ciara's debut studio album of the same name. The song was released as the album's lead single on June 8, 2004, through LaFace Records. It was recorded as an answer song to the featured performer's hit single, "Freek-a-Leek". The song's lead woman refuses men's sexual advances, proclaiming that they will not get her "goodies" because "they stay in the jar" The song gave Ciara the title as the "First Lady or Princess of Crunk&B" It was a commercial success, peaking at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks, becoming the longest-running number-one single by a female artist on the chart since 1977. In August 2020, Ciara revealed that her label almost shopped the song to Britney Spears. It has been compared to the Usher song "Yeah!" and Kelis's "Milkshake." The song makes comparisons to "faux" in the use of a repeated whistle, operatic vocals, and a western guitar riff.
