France 3
France 3 is a French free-to-air public television regional network part of the France Télévisions group. It is made up of a network of regional television services providing daily news programming and around ten hours of entertainment and cultural programming each week. The channel also broadcasts various national programming and national and international news from Paris. It was known as France Régions 3 (FR3) until its rebranding to France 3 in September 1992 as part of a consolidation of the audiovisual public service under the FranceTélévision holding. In 2018, France 3 was the third most watched television station in France. It has been the subject of several films, including "La Troisième Chaîne Couleur" (1972) and "L'Auberge de l'Oréal" (1974). It has also been the target of a number of political campaigns, including that of President Nicolas Sarkozy and President Francois Mitterrand. France 3 is the only French channel not to be available on satellite television or cable television, and the only one not to broadcast live.
