Enzo Lefort

Enzo Lefort, born on 29 September 1991 in French Guiana, is a French right-handed foil fencer known for his achievements in international competitions. He discovered fencing at age five after being inspired by Laura Flessel's gold medal win at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Lefort trained under Ruddy Plicoste in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, and later joined the centre for promising athletes in Châtenay-Malabry, France. Lefort won his first French national championship in 2012 and competed at the 2012 London Olympics, where he lost in the second round of the individual foil event. The French team was defeated by the United States in the quarter-finals. He later joined the Cercle d'Escrime Melun Val de Seine. In the 2013–14 season, Lefort achieved his first World Cup medal at the Challenge International de Paris and secured podium finishes in Venice, Saint-Petersburg, and Havana. At the European Championships in Strasbourg, he led France to a gold medal in the team event by defeating Italy 45–41. In the World Championships at Kazan, Lefort won bronze in the individual foil event after being defeated in the semi-finals by Aleksey Cheremisinov of Russia. Lefort became a three-time Olympian, competing at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics (where he earned a team silver medal) and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (where France won the team gold).
