Electros Vekris

Electros Vekris, born Babis Vekris in 1960 in Arcadia, Greece, is a Greek-born American artist known for integrating LEDs and kinetic elements into his sculptures and installations. He adopted the name Electros professionally in 1990. After moving to New York City in 1979, he studied at the New York Studio School and began creating kinetic artworks using LEDs, black sintra board, aluminum sheet, Fresnel lens, and stainless steel.

His work often combines light, sound, and motion, with notable interactive installations including *The Binary Era* (1995), *Electronic Rain* (1995), *Scientific Remedy* (2007), and *Fractal Landscape II* (2007). Vekris has exhibited widely, with significant shows at venues such as the Hellenic Diaspora Foundation in Greece, the HAP Art Center in New York, the Discovery Museum in Connecticut, the Makedoniko Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, and the Osaka Triennial in Japan.

His exhibitions span from 1982 to 2022, showcasing his innovative use of technology in art. Vekris is recognized for his contributions to art and technology, with works displayed in both permanent collections and temporary installations worldwide.
