Antonio Milo
Antonio Milo, born on 5 December 1959 in Agerola, Italy, is a prominent Italian politician. He began his political career in 1995 as a regional councilor for Campania under the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) within the Forza Italia list. In 1998, he switched to the Christian Democratic Centre (CCD) and was re-elected in the 2000 regional elections. In the 2001 general election, Milo ran for the Chamber of Deputies on the CCD-CDU list but was not elected due to his party's failure to meet the 4% threshold. He joined the Union of Christian and Centre Democrats (UDC) in 2002 and was re-elected as a regional councilor in the 2005 Campania elections. Milo entered the Chamber of Deputies in the 2008 political elections on the Movement for Autonomy (MpA) list, subsequently resigning as regional councilor. In January 2010, after being expelled from MpA for not supporting the Berlusconi IV Cabinet, he co-founded the center-right party We the South (NS) with Arturo Iannaccone. He joined the Responsible Initiative parliamentary group in January 2011 to support the Berlusconi government. Elected to the Senate in the 2013 general election on the People of Freedom (PdL) list, Milo initially aligned with PdL but later shifted to the "Great Autonomies and Freedom" (GAL) group in December 2013.
